Helping You Go Abroad: A New Vision, Mission, Specialization, and Much More in 2022 – As we wrap up the first half of 2022, we thought it would be a good idea to provide all of you with a quick update on Expat Empire and where we’re headed for the rest of the year.

Before we get into the announcements, let’s do a little housekeeping. You may be wondering why there haven’t been any new blog posts or podcast episodes released in the last few weeks. After publishing something nearly every week for the past year, we have decided to take some time off from producing content and enjoy our summer break. We plan to start releasing more blog posts and podcast episodes later this year.

However, that doesn’t mean that we haven’t been busy. We have some exciting new announcements to share today, so let’s dive in!

Helping You Go Abroad: New Vision Statement, Mission Statement, and Core Values

First and foremost, we are overjoyed to announce our new vision and mission statements as well as our very first set of core values.

The world has changed a lot since Expat Empire was founded in 2018, and more people than ever before are searching for ways to go abroad. The pandemic altered the nature (and location) of work and served as an opportunity for people to reassess where around the world they want to live, and people, companies, and governments are only just beginning to adapt to this new reality.

With all of the changes that the world has seen over the past couple of years, we realized that we needed a new guiding light for our future growth as we focus in on addressing the needs of employees, digital nomads, and retirees from all over the world. That realization and the ensuing discussions led to the creation of the following new vision and mission statements:

To provide the most helpful services and information for people who want to move, live, and work overseas

We are also happy to share our very first set of core values. These are the principles that we will rely on to guide us in serving our employees, clients, and the broader global Expat Empire community in the future:

Specializing in Americans Moving to Europe

Though we strive to help anyone to move anywhere in the world, we have seen over the past several years that the greatest demand in the market is coming from Americans wanting to leave the United States. These Americans also happen to be primarily interested in moving to European countries including Portugal, France, Spain, Germany, and many more. In fact, Portugal is currently our top requested destination for all of our clients, not just Americans.

Given the knowledge we have developed as Americans living in Europe ourselves, we’re more than ready to support other Americans hoping to start the process of relocating here. While we will continue to help anyone moving anywhere around the world, we are happy to specialize even further to best address the unique needs of Americans moving to Europe over the coming years.

Elaine Pope’s USA to Portugal Case Study

Continuing with the topic of our new specialization, we’re overjoyed to share a brand new case study discussing how we helped Elaine Pope to relocate from the US to Portugal! Her experience really highlights the value that Expat Empire can add to people’s journeys abroad as she 1) purchased some of our consulting services, 2) worked with several of the partners in our global network, and 3) attended a few of our meetup events throughout the course of her journey to Porto.
